Synod Survey

In preparation for the 2015 Ordinary Synod of Bishops on the Vocation of the Family in the Church and Contemporary World , the world’s bishops’ conferences received 46 questions on the pastoral care related to families to guide their reflection and preparation for the 2015 Synod and to avoid the formulation of pastoral care based simply on the application of Catholic doctrine. These questions, provided in the Lineamenta for the 2015 Synod, are directly related to the concluding document of the 2014 Extraordinary Synod on the Family, the Relatio Synodi. Thus, the year between the 2014 and 2015 synods on the family, highlighted by the 2015 World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia, serves as a period of prayer, reflection, and encounter with the Holy Spirit for the entire Church.
